How to get started
8 steps
1. Fix Digestion if needed, with Beet Flow, HCL and digestive enzymes.
2. Get tools. Coconut oil, MCT oil, ketostix, breath or blood meter if possible.
3. Eliminate starches and bring down carbs to 20 G a day (or, if you’re low blood pressure, add extra sea salt start by using medium carbs in the morning while introducing MCT oil.)
4. Consume 1 tsp of coconut oil at the end of each meal (or coconut yummies)
5. Add ½ tsp of MCT oil per meal (for meals you’re home or have access) Increase slowly up to a full tablespoon per meal. Judge how fast you move up by any stomach discomfort.
6. Reduce protein consumption.
7. Increase fat consumption slowly and reduce if you feel nauseous at all until you’re digesting fats well. Take steps to improve bile flow.
8. Ketones may take a week or two to start showing up in the urine. If you are unable to reduce carbs and protein enough or increase fats enough, this could take longer. Once ketones start to show up, any low blood pressure folks still using medium carb foods in the morning can drop those medium carb foods. You may have a few days where cravings are more severe, but if you can stick with it, ketone production should increase and those cravings will decrease.
